As a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant and an Inter-Faith Minister I collaborate with my clients to create and perform personalized ceremonies that reflect the client's beliefs, philosophy of life, and personality; not my own.
What is a Celebrant?
Celebrants are professionally trained ceremony officiants who believe in the power and effectiveness of ceremony and ritual to serve basic needs of society and the individual. We facilitate the recognition and celebration of major transitions in our clients' lives. Celebrants officiate at all types of ceremonies and rituals: for babies and adoptions, coming of age, marriages, commitment ceremonies, funerals and memorials.
Celebrants also develop ceremonies to enrich public life - for community, business and civic events. The opportunities to use ceremony to create connections among neighbors and families, and for healing and celebration, are as varied as are our relationships and our communities.
While I have created and officiated ceremonies large and small for my community for many years, when I committed to offering my services in the Ceremonial Arts professionally I sought out training and professional development from an institute that would hone my skills and expand my knowledge of symbols from a wider range of traditions and cultures.
The Celebrant Foundation & Institute is dedicated to educating people about the value of ceremony and rituals in marking the important transitions in life. The Celebrant Foundation & Institute offers training and certification for continuing education and a solid background in the theory, art and practice of ceremony.
