The releasing of pure white homing doves is a harmonious and natural way
for an individual, a family or a business to celebrate or commemorate a
personal milestone event.
Where do the doves go?
After being carefully released our trained Rock Doves fly home to their loft in Woodfin, where they will have food and water and a family to come home to.
How far can they fly?
Many hours and miles go into the training of the doves. Like athletes they exercise regularly, have good diets, and gradually build up the endurance to fly many miles back home. They love to fly and will be trained to approx. 50-60 flight miles of their loft.
What is your policy about dove release?
We adhere to the guidelines established by WDRP, which are as follows:
- We release only well trained, well cared for white homing pigeons that have been banded and which have been raised and trained to return home to their loft.
- We ensure that appropriate attire is worn for all events and that a release coordinator is 100% reliable and on time.
- We return deposits for acts of God, etc.
- We will not release birds INDOORS.
- We will not release birds AT NIGHT.
- We will not release birds in INCLEMENT WEATHER..a light shower, maybe, but not thunder and lighting or heavy rains.
- We will not ship birds by mail for self-release.
- We wil NOT release birds beyond a range they are unable to safely fly.
- We ensure that EVERY event has at least one knowledgeable release coordinator present.
