White Dove Release

A Memorial White Dove Release can bring an uplifting sense of peace and comfort to those who are experiencing sadness at the loss of a loved one.  This lovely ritual can be a beautiful addition to the Portrait or Committal Ceremony. It can also stand alone as a simple but moving Committal Ceremony.

Portrait Ceremony

I will meet with the deceased’s family member(s) during a personal home visit to interview them about the life of their loved one as they share their memories and talk about the impact the deceased had on their life and their community.  The meeting usually lasts from one to three  hours.  If necessary I can also meet over the phone

Following the interview, I will create, in collaboration with the family, a well-crafted portrait ceremony that honorably reflects the life, history, values, beliefs, culture, ethnicity and personality of the deceased.  As part of Celebrant’s gold-standard of excellence, the family is assured the final approval of the eulogy and all elements of the service prior to the funeral.  Then I will officiate the service with warmth and sincerity for all to hear and appreciate.

Throughout the process, I work closely with the Funeral Director to ensure that the needs of the family are met and that all goes as planned.  Finally, as a keepsake I gift a beautiful copy of the eulogy and service to the family.

Simple Graveside, Cremation or Committal Ceremony

We will have a relaxed telephone conversation in which I will hear about the deceased honoree's beliefs and values and your preferences for a simple, final rest ceremony.  I will provide you with a basic outline for this simple ceremony along with sample readings and prayers from traditions I believe match your needs.  You are welcome to offer readings and prayers as well and suggest family members or guests who might wish to read, sing or share in some other way.  You will have final approval of the ceremony.  I will officiate  the service with warmth and sincerity and provide you with a copy of the service as a keepsake.
